Frequently Asked Questions

What is the MOMS Club?

The MOMS (Moms Offering Moms Support) Club is a national, non-profit organization with hundreds of chapters across the country. We are just for you, the at-home mother of today, interested in the world around you, wanting a variety of activities for you and your children, and proud of your choice of at-home mothering for your family! Mothers who work part-time or from home, but are at home with their children during the day, are welcome. We have over 1,200 local chapters with 63,000+ members across the country–and more chapters are starting every month. We are the only international support group specifically for at-home mothers.

What does the MOMS Club of Odenton do?

The MOMS Club provides an important social link for at-home mothers. We coordinate a variety of activities including: playgroups, field trips, monthly meetings, a craft club, and Mom’s Night Out. Another big part of the MOMS Club is helping children in our community. This is achieved through service projects like the Family Safety Fair and fundraisers to benefit local charities that provide for children, and the MD Kids in Safety Seats Loaner Program.

Who can join?

Any mother who is at home with her children and lives in Odenton, Fort Meade, or Severn may join. Prospective members are welcome to attend two meetings or playgroups before deciding if they would like to join the MOMS Club. Field trips and other group activities are for members only.

How do I join?

If you would like to join, you need to fill out a registration form and submit it with your dues payment (checks are preferred). Club dues are $20 per year, per mom. This money goes to cover the expenses associated with running the club. Please see the Membership section for more details.

What if the weather is bad?

We will be using the Anne Arundel County Public School’s School Closing Policy as a guideline for our bad weather cancellations or closings. If schools are two hours late or closed, we will cancel all activities for the day. If schools are opening one hour late, we will still have any scheduled activities. Please use your best judgement when deciding if it’s safe to attend an activity. If schools are closed for any reason other than weather, please check with the chairmom in charge of the activity or a board member if you have a question about cancellation.

What if my child is sick?

Please do not attend activities if your child has had any of the following symptoms in the past 24 hours: fever over 100, diarrhea, vomiting, cough, sneezing, runny nose, sore throat, unexplained rash, ring worm, lice, or pink eye. If any of the above symptoms have been caused by allergies or teething, you are welcome to attend.
